Founded in 1994, Zhejiang Jiansheng Group Jiangshan Knitting Co., Ltd. is a production enterprise specializing in the research, development, design and manufacture of knitwear, providing professional cotton socks research and development, design and manufacture and services for many well-known brands around the world as well as global retailers such as Uniqlo and Decathlon.
The company participated in Module 1 "Workplace Cooperation" and Module 7 "Gender Equality" of the SCORE program. And through the implementation of the project, it has made great improvements in the management and work of the company.
Content and significance of the program
Workplace Collaboration: Establishing Effective Respect, Trust and Communication Mechanisms in the Workplace
In today's rapidly changing world, "people" are the core of competitiveness. Everyone in the organization needs to play an active role if the organization is to continue to improve.
This module addresses the theme of "Productivity through Workplace Collaboration", which forms the basis of both the first module and the others. The module helps organizations to unite employees around a common goal and to involve all employees in the continuous improvement process.
At the end of the module, managers and employees use the SCORE methodology to set a strategic direction for the organization, identify a series of practical workplace improvement projects, and establish a system for continuous measurement and improvement.
Gender Equality: Balancing Productivity and Corporate Sustainability
Diversity and inclusion improve business performance. The Gender Equality training module focuses on five key issues: equality of power, inclusive hiring, equal pay for work of equal value, work environment and work-life harmony.
"Gender Equality aims to improve business performance by promoting gender equality in the workplace. The module covers six areas of action and is designed to recognize the benefits of gender equality in the workplace, identify key aspects of gender equality and their impact on the workplace, and create greater value for the enterprise by promoting gender equality.
Project Process
The company was represented by a total of 5 participants from different departments with different responsibilities. The training covered equal voice, inclusive recruitment, equal pay for equal work, working environment, work-life balance, occupational safety and health from a gender perspective, etc.; the training aimed to help enterprises improve their management level, promote respect for workers' rights, and contribute to decent employment and gender equality; it was committed to focusing on the adverse gender-related impacts that individual employees or groups of employees endure at work, and helping to mitigate, eliminate or It is committed to paying attention to the gender-related negative impacts on individual employees or groups of employees at work, and helping to mitigate, eliminate or prevent the negative impacts of gender inequality.
For example: the company will take the initiative to adjust the jobs and working hours of pregnant female employees, especially frontline employees working three shifts; in order to attract the best talents and avoid gender inequality in recruitment, the company does not have a gender requirement when posting descriptions of vacancies; the proportion of women in management has reached 80%, etc.
Project Summary
In the course of the project, the company set up an EIT team consisting of senior leaders, department managers, plant managers and workshop supervisors as organizational members, with a total of 13 members, including 4 male employees and 9 female employees. The team members have held 9 meetings and completed 83 improvement projects. Of these, 4 were practices that promote gender equality, and 1 was the implementation of a proposal for amenities for female employees. Five employee satisfaction surveys were completed, and the employee satisfaction survey indicator was consistently above 99%.
After the implementation of the program, the company collected more than 100 employee suggestions (of which the proportion of suggestions from frontline employees reached 74%), investigated more than 40 safety hazards (of which the proportion of frontline employees' investigations reached 63%), and identified 162 job safety risks.
Experience and Lessons Learned
Through the implementation of the SCORE program, the company has fully realized the benefits of a more equal working environment. Through the implementation of the program, the company has learned management and communication skills, given its employees the spirit of ownership, brought them closer to the management, and enhanced their sense of responsibility for their work.
During the implementation of the project, the company's employees also reacted strongly, they put forward a lot of views, and the results were obvious. Front-line employees were also touched from the initial wait-and-see state when they saw the importance of the leadership for the proposed comments and suggestions, so that they were more willing to participate in the learning and implementation of the project to improve the working environment, enhance the working order, and improve the enthusiasm for work at the same time, and further enhance the enthusiasm of the staff to work, and ultimately improve the production and performance.
